AN INNOCENT mum who was tragically shot dead outside a bar during a Bank Holiday night out has been pictured – as her family pay tribute.

“Beautiful soul” Shanice Brookes, 30, was found with serious gunshot injuries in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, in the early hours of Monday.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the One Four One bar on West Street in the city centre at around 2.45am.

South Yorkshire Police said Shanice was an innocent bystander “enjoying a night out” when she was shot.

The 30-year-old digital creator was rushed to hospital but, despite the best efforts of medical teams, tragically died of her injuries.

Shanice’s heartbroken family have since paid a touching tribute, hailing her as ” truly one of a kind”.

It read: “Shanice had the biggest heart and the kind of energy you could never forget.

“She was a deeply loved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and godmother, as well as being an amazing mum to her son, who meant the world to her.

“To her cousins, she was more like a sister – someone they could always turn to for love, laughter and support.

“Shanice was also due to graduate from university, a reflection of her determination, ambition and the bright future ahead of her.

“She could light up every room she walked in to with her infectious laugh, beautiful soul and magical aura.

“Shanice made people feel loved, safe and valued simply by being herself.

“She was truly one of a kind and she will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love her.”

Two 30-year-old men and a 32-year-old woman have been arrested and are currently being held in police custody.

The force has since released a CCTV image of a white Audi seen in the area at the time of the shooting.

It can be seen parked at the junction of nearby Eldon Street and West Hill Street – opposite Tesco Express.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, the Senior Investigating Officer, urged anyone who may have more information to come forward.

Issuing an appeal, he said: “We know there were loads of people in the area, either on a night out or working, who we have yet to speak to.

“They may have witnessed the incident or something of note beforehand.

“They may have finished work in the night time economy or be a licensed taxi driver or someone’s lift home.

“If you were in Sheffield in the early hours of Monday, please think back.

“Please check your photos, social posts, and dash cam for anything which may help us.

“If you weren’t there but want to do your bit to help, please consider sharing this image on your social media channels.

“Anyone who has any information which may assist us to contact South Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers, anonymously.”
