Man charged after cannabis haul worth nearly $700,000 found in truck on major national highway
Police looked inside a truck and allegedly found a significant number of illegal plants.
A truck driver is set to face court after police allegedly uncovered almost $700,000 worth of cannabis plants during a roadside stop on a major NSW highway.
NSW Police pulled over the truck at Bookham near Yass, about 280 kilometres south-west of the Sydney, about 4.30pm on Friday for routine roadside testing.
Police allege the 32‑year‑old driver returned a positive indication for methylamphetamine, and checks revealed his licence had been cancelled.
Officers searched the truck and allegedly found 139 cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $695,000.

The man was arrested and taken to Yass Police Station, where he was charged with: Supply cannabis (greater than indictable amount and less than commercial quantity), unlawfully possess Australian driver licence and driving with a cancelled licence.
He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
