Jason’s decision to leave Farmer Wants A Wife with Poppy raised eyebrows after she revealed early in the season she didn’t want to have children.
The choice appeared to contradict the dairy farmer’s repeated insistence that he was looking for someone to start a family with.
Speaking to 7NEWS.com.au after Monday night’s finale, runner-up Logan said she respected Poppy’s decision, but admitted it left her questioning what Jason really wanted.
“It is her choice, it’s each to their own,” Logan, 28, said.
“It’s just the fact that Jason’s whole thing was about having kids and then picking someone that doesn’t want them.
“It kind of made me, and I think probably Kimberley as well, second guess that’s actually what he was after — more children and a family.
“It just didn’t really make sense.”
Despite her confusion, Logan said she believed Jason was genuine in his feelings.
“I guess if not wanting to have children didn’t come up as a deal breaker for Jason, he obviously liked Poppy a lot,” Logan added.
While she had hoped Jason would choose her, Logan admitted she wasn’t shocked by his decision.
“I think I could always tell that he had something for Poppy,” the mum-of-two said.
“It was just little things you wouldn’t even notice but being in that environment, you could see it.
“Just small things, like even at the farm when we’d sit at the table Jason would always choose to sit next to Poppy to get closer to her.
“I felt like this jealous crazy person, but when you feel it in you gut you just know.”
Logan said although she was “very upset”, she had prepared herself for the moment Jason told her his “heart was with someone else”.
“I’m pretty sure I blacked out in that moment,” Logan said.
“But looking back, I’m glad I handled it so well because I know I was so upset.
“But I definitely prepared myself for that because I knew there was a nine out of ten chance he was going to choose Poppy.”
After that final moment, Logan was driven straight to the airport, where she felt a strange sense of relief and excitement knowing she would soon be reunited with her two children.
While she didn’t get to speak to Jason immediately afterwards, Logan said they now “speak a lot” about their experience on the show.
After the finale aired, Jason also texted to check in and see if she was doing OK.
“He’s a great guy and I think we’ll always be friends,” Logan said.
“He’s lovely and we have great chats – he made his decision and I’m fine with that.”
While one of the concerns Jason, 37, expressed on camera was the pair’s nine-year age gap, Logan revealed it was never actually discussed between them.
“I honestly did not even think about it,” Logan said.
“It wasn’t brought up at all. I don’t think we ever spoke about it.”
Logan said she has no regrets about her time on the show and, despite being perceived as the “villain” at times, she’s proud she spoke her mind.
After filming wrapped, Logan met someone in her hometown of Yamba, NSW, and the pair dated for four months.
While the distance and their commitments made the relationship difficult to maintain, she said the show had taught her how to date and she’s grateful for what she learned.
Logan also revealed she and Poppy remain close friends.
“We went through so much together,” Logan said.
“We were together from the start and until the end, so I think that will always just stick with us.
“I love Poppy.”
