Newly released disturbing surveillance footage shows the mother of the 16 children found in the Ohio ‘house of horrors’ appearing to cower as she is interviewed by police following her arrest.
The clip shows the moment all four of the accused — Elizabeth, Gary Jr., Gary Sr., and Christina Siders— were booked into the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail after their arrests on June 30.
73-year-old Gary Siders Sr. was also shown in the footage, as he appeared to struggle to exit a Vinton County Sheriff’s van before he was put in a wheelchair and taken to jail by officers. Gary Jr., 36, can also be seen exiting the sheriff’s van, with shackles around his ankles and handcuffs.
This followed Christina, 66, who was also handcuffed, and 33-year-old Elizabeth, who were taken inside the jail by two female deputies. Notably, Elizabeth was the only family member not in handcuffs or shackles.
During her search, Elizabeth appeared visibly shaken and crouched over. Later, she is also shown inside the facility, seated in a plastic chair in an orange jumpsuit, with wet hair, while being questioned by the police. The mother can be seen cowering over with her hands placed on her lap.
On June 30, officials rescued 16 children from a rundown property in Hamden, Ohio, where they were “kept in worse conditions than livestock,” according to law enforcement. Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson said the children were between 18 months and 18 years old and “looked like feral animals.”

Gary Siders Jr. , Gary Siders Sr., Christina Siders, and Elizabeth Siders are all now facing criminal charges. All four have pleaded not guilty to child endangerment allegations.
Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain reported finding a “high presence” of bacterial and human feces as officers gathered evidence from the residence where the children were found. He stated the kids “were literally about to fall through the floor.
“Livestock has been kept in better conditions than the children,” he asserted. “I believe it was typical that even law enforcement has experience with homes in a similar fashion. The children were kept in a 12×12 area in what seems like the last four years.”
Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s lawyer, Tommy Stolly, recently revealed that she and Gary Siders Jr. “always wanted a big family” and verified that all 16 of their children were born in hospitals. He also disputed a the claim that the children were confined to a single 12-by-12-foot room, saying he has witnessed no proof backing up that assertion.
Stolly additionally maintained that the older children had possesse cell phones, accessed social media, and exchanged “inside jokes,” indicating they weren’t entirely cut off from the outside world as previous reports suggested.
Authorities suspect the case centers on “prolonged and extreme interfamilial neglect and abuse.”
