Mayfair hotspot Quaglino’s, famed for its live music and luxurious art deco setting, couldn’t be more fitting for our live podcast recording. It is steeped in royal history: the late Queen famously visited in 1956, making her the first British reigning monarch to eat out at a public restaurant.
Princess Diana herself would also frequent Quaglino’s between 1995 and 1997, slipping in through the sidedoor so as not to be followed by paparazzi, while Princess Margaret had a permanently reserved table near the dance floor, dubbed the ‘royal enclosure’. Other royals who have also been spotted at Quaglino’s, just a stone’s throw away from St James’s Palace, include Prince Harry.
