A 39-year-old woman has been fatally stabbed inside a Melbourne home, with a man now in custody.
Police found the woman dead at the home in the city’s east on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, forensic officers could be seen entering the home on Delatite Court, in the suburb of Vermont.
Officers are focused on a stand-alone house on the cul-de-sac street.

Police tape has been draped from the front fence across the footpath, as forensics in overalls and homicide detectives in suits go in and out.
Police were called to the house about 10pm on Tuesday after reports of a stabbing, a police spokesperson said.
Officers found the found the 39-year-old woman dead at the scene.
A 39-year old man was treated by paramedics and then arrested.
The man was taken to hospital under police guard to be questioned by detectives.
No charges have been laid, and police believe the man and woman were known to each other.
