Meghan Markle has left fans surprised today after it was revealed on Wednesday that she is making a return to acting. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, will be playing a “small role” as herself in the movie Close Personal Friends.

While Meghan hasn’t publicly addressed this, she has already been on the set of the Amazon MGM Studios’ movie in California. This comes eight years after she left the acting world to pursue a relationship with Prince Harry, who at the time was still a working royal. Although people around the world have mixed views on what Meghan is really like, one insider from the set of the movie has given their insight on their time with the duchess during the filming process.

They told People: “Meghan was on the set today.

“She seemed very relaxed and happy. She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.”

The news that Meghan is going to be back on screens has resulted in mixed reaction from fans online, with some “excited” about her return to acting, and others critical of the career move.

However, it is believed Meghan’s husband Prince Harry – who she quit royal life alongside in 2020 – is very supportive of her role in the movie.

A studio source told The Sun last night: “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

Before marrying Harry, Meghan was an actress on the big hit TV series Suits.

However, she gave up her role in order to pursue life as a working royal – a job she then left behind, with Harry by her side, in 2020.
