Boy, 3, undergoes FIVE gruelling ops after being ‘thrown into crocodile enclosure’ – as family ‘living in hospital’
A THREE-year-old boy who was allegedly attacked by a crocodile after being thrown into its enclosure has faced five surgeries since the horror.
His devastated family have been “living in hospital” for weeks after he was reportedly hurled over a barrier at a zoo in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

The youngster faces two further operations after reportedly plunging 15ft and being bitten by a crocodile at Johnsons of Old Hurst on June 18.
Zoo owners Andy and Tracey Johnson said they were “proud” of their staff for jumping into the enclosure to rescue the child.
His parents, who have been at his bedside at Addenbrooke’s Hospital since the attack, previously told how he faces a “long road to recovery”.
They have since revealed how their boy will undergo nerve reconstruction surgery, but the extent of his injuries are still unknown.

Questions still remain over how much function the youngster will have in both his arms, wrists and hands following the horror.
The latest heartbreaking update was issued on a GoFundMe page set up on behalf of the family, which has so far raised more than £25,000.
It read: “We are extremely grateful for everyone’s generosity.
“We could never thank you enough for the support you have given our family in this horrible time.
“We have been living at the hospital for 2 weeks now and our son has undergone 5 surgeries.
“We know that our son is to undergo at least two more surgeries, one of those surgeries being a nerve reconstruction in his arm.
“These last two weeks have been a very uncertain and unsettling time.
“This uncertainty remains as we still don’t know the extent of his feeling, movement and function in both of his arms, wrists and hands.

“This will only be identified after casts and bandages are able to be removed and he can begin his rehabilitation journey.
“His rehabilitation journey is uncertain but we do know that it won’t be a short process.”
It is understood the boy landed on a concrete walkway, suffering a broken arm and pelvis, before ending up in the water.
He was then reportedly bitten by either a saltwater or Nile crocodile.
Owners Mr and Mrs Johnson described the incident as “one of the most distressing” in the zoo’s history.
Tracey Johnson reportedly jumped into the enclosure to save the child.
Speaking yesterday for the first time, they hailed the “incredible” work of their staff and emergency crews who helped rescue the boy.
In a statement, they said: “We were alerted to reports a child had allegedly been thrown into one of our crocodile enclosures in the Tropical House.

“Everyone who was on site that day acted with incredible speed and determination.
“Within minutes of the first radio call, the child had been rescued from the enclosure and was receiving first aid.
“The emergency services arrived very quickly, supported by the MAGPAS Air Ambulance.
“We cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, compassion and dedication in such difficult circumstances.
“We are immensely proud of our own staff, who responded without hesitation and did everything they could to help and support the child until the emergency services took over.”
A 30-year-old – believed to have learning disabilities – was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but swiftly released from police custody.
Cops confirmed the man was not fit to be quizzed by officers and he has been bailed until September 18.
Two carers who were looking after the suspect during his trip to the zoo are now reportedly under investigation.
Cambridgeshire Police officers were called to the zoo at 1.24pm by the ambulance service.
The force said the boy “sustained serious injuries while in the enclosure” and “was pulled out by staff from the zoo”.
