The secret behind the “hour-long” meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles has been revealed… and it has the entire UK buzzing!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their way to the UK in a visit that marks multiple special occasions. And, for once, they have handled their trip with grace and proved to Prince William and Princess Catherine that they can be trusted. The visit marks the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games – Harry and Meghan even travelled with their two children, and they’ve paid a private visit to King Charles.

At a time when the Royal Family need working members more than ever as numbers dwindle, speculation never seems to end on whether Prince Harry and Meghan could form an alliance once again with Prince William and Princess Catherine. On Friday, Harry, Meghan, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie were hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove. The pair have kept the details of the meeting completely confidential and have not leaked a single detail in a respectable move.

The visit was confirmed by Buckingham Palace who described the meeting at the King’s private home in Gloucestershire as a “private family occasion”.

It is the first time the King has seen his two grandchildren in person in more than four years. I can almost imagine the six of them sitting there over a spot of good old-fashioned afternoon tea and catching up. There’s no doubt the presence of the children likely lightened the mood – but that’s not a bad thing.

At the end of the day, no matter what happens, families are families and while some won’t ever forgive Harry and Meghan – life is too short to hold grudges.

The King himself had expressed an interest in seeing his grandchildren, and it’s heartwarming to hear they’ve all been able to put their differences aside and make this happen.

While the King and Prince Harry seem to have made attempts to make amends, an honourable decision, it appears that Prince William and Harry are yet to take that step.

Prince Harry and Meghan had not been in the UK together since 2022, when they attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The pair left the UK and their royal duties in 2020 and headed for the USA.

Six years later, it’s great to hear that they are reuniting with their family – and while we don’t know what is going on behind closed doors, it’s a positive step in the right direction, surely.

After everything the family have been through, from scandals surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, they need to stand together – not apart.

While Prince Harry and his family were at Highgrove, Prince William was playing in a charity polo match in Windsor. Sadly, it appears there are currently no plans for them to meet.

Prince William and Princess Catherine need Harry and Meghan – the quartet were once known as the “fab four” before things went downhill.

Even if the pair don’t ever return to the UK to live or carry out any form of royal duties, setting all of this aside, it would be a shame if their children weren’t able to get to know their cousins or their aunts and uncles.

I’m sure we have all had arguments with our family and fallouts with people close to us – but there’s always the opportunity for a second chance.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not shared a single detail from their meeting with the king, suggesting they may have wanted to handle family matters away from the spotlight and to respect King Charles and Queen Camilla.

For Meghan, who often posts on social media, her lack of posts suggests this is an important event for the family and one they want to get right.

The couple have done themselves proud, they’ve made the effort and waited until things have cooled off.

After trying their best to maintain the relationships, now it’s time for Prince William and Princess Catherine to give them another chance.
