A young girl is still fighting for life in hospital after a horror crash on a Western Australian highway left two men dead and another woman critically injured.

Police confirmed on Tuesday the 60-year-old male driver of a RAM ute towing a caravan, and a 45-year-old man driving a Toyota Landcruiser both died at the scene.
A 12-year-old girl and a woman in her 50s, both passengers in the RAM, were critically injured in the crash.
They were airlifted by a Royal Flying Doctor Service jet to Perth Children’s Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital, respectively, where they remain in critical conditions.
Another four injured people were assessed by paramedics and taken to Monkey Mia Airport before they were also airlifted back to Perth.

As of Tuesday morning a stretch of highway between Overlander Roadhouse and Billabong Roadhouse remains closed, according to Mainroads.
Motorist Josh Osgood drove past the scene of the crash only minutes after the incident occured, saying the cars had been completely destroyed.
“The vehicles were in a million bits,” he told The West Australian.
“I saw the guys with a medical bag running over to help.
“I hope the kid pulls through.”

Hamelin Pool is a popular tourist destination that makes up part of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area.
It is known for its diverse stromatolites; rock-like structures also called “living fossils”.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
Investigations remain ongoing.
