Nine children have been hit with 70 charges after allegedly stealing multiple vehicles from properties in WA’s Kimberly region on Friday.
The youths allegedly targeted homes in Derby between 1am and 4.30am, fleeing with a total of seven vehicles including four motorbikes, a quad bike, a Mazda tray top and a Toyota Land cruiser station sedan.
Police allege the vehicles were taken from multiple homes on Millard Street, Conway Street and Galvins Way.
All have been recovered and the youths were swiftly arrested and charged. There has been no reports of injuries.
The worst of the alleged offenders is a teenager charged with six counts of stealing a vehicle, four counts of trespassing, one attempt at stealing a vehicle, and one count of stealing.

He is due to appear in Derby Children’s Court on August 26.
A further five teenage boys were hit the same seven charges: Four counts of stealing a vehicle, two counts of trespassing and one count of attempting to steal a vehicle.
There are each due to individually face either Derby Children’s Court or Broome Children’s Court throughout August.
A seventh alleged offender, a juvenile, has been charged with four counts of stealing a vehicle, three counts of trespassing, one cont of attempting to steal a vehicle, and one count of stealing.
He will face Derby Children’s Court August 26.
Police issued the remaining two male teenagers with juvenile cautions.
