Police investigate after body found in suitcase south of Goulburn

A horror roadside discovery has triggered a major police investigation after a body was found inside a suitcase.

A shocking discovery in the NSW Southern Tablelands has sparked a police investigation after a body believed to be a woman was found inside a suitcase near Oallen on Sunday.

Police were called to Wolgon Rd, near Oallen Ford Rd, shortly before 1pm after a passer-by reported finding what appeared to be a body.

When officers arrived, they found human remains inside a suitcase.

The person has not yet been formally identified, but police believe the body is that of a woman.

The suitcase has been taken away for forensic examination as investigators work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

A crime scene has been established at Oallen, about 61km south of Goulburn, and inquiries are continuing.
