Sarah Danh’s fight isn’t over.
It has been three days since the labor and delivery nurse, 27, landed back home in Texas on an emergency medical evacuation flight, after her destination honeymoon took a terrifying turn. Just weeks after Danh’s “dream wedding” to husband Luke Gradl, 28, the newlyweds traveled to Japan for a romantic getaway, but were met with a health crisis when Danh suddenly suffered a “life-threatening health decline” for unknown reasons on the second day there.

Since April 9, Danh has been in critical care with acute liver failure and other health issues. She and her husband returned to the U.S. on Tuesday, April 21, exactly one month since their marriage.
Danh’s uncle, Khang Le, shared an update on her condition on Facebook on Friday, April 24.
“I know so many of you have been waiting and hoping for good news, and I’m so sorry that we still don’t have the update we’re all praying for,” he wrote alongside an emotional photo of Danh’s mother, Le Le, leaning over her daughter, who was lying in a hospital bed with a breathing tube, and gently kissing her bandaged forehead.

Khang revealed that Danh “remains on life support.”
“We are taking everything moment by moment, holding onto hope as we wait for her to wake from this coma,” he wrote. “These past few days have been incredibly tough and heartbreaking—an emotional rollercoaster that feels never-ending, especially for her parents, Le Le, Daniel Danh, her brother Nate Danh, and [husband] Luke Gradl.”
He emphasized that Danh’s battle isn’t over, but that her family is gathering to support her in any way they can.

“While her toxic levels have started to normalize, she still has a long fight ahead,” Khang wrote. “Family members from across the country are traveling to San Antonio to be by her side, hoping and praying for a miracle—for her to open her eyes and come back to us.”
He continued, “We miss her more than words can express. Please continue to keep Sarah and our family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Your love and support mean more to us than we can say.”

A GoFundMe was created to assist Danh’s healing journey, and has raised over $181,000 as of Friday, April 24.
“Whether we know you personally or you reached out from somewhere far away, your kindness, prayers, and support helped carry us through one of the hardest times in our lives,” Gradl and Le previously told PEOPLE in a statement expressing their gratitude for widespread support. “You gave us comfort, strength, and hope when we needed it most.”
