Unexpected Twist: MAFS’ Bec Zacharia Reveals Shock Call Following Stella and Filip’s Breakup as Gia’s Pregnancy Sparks Buzz
Exclusive: The MAFS season 13 cast re-entered national conversation with recent news of Gia Fleur’s pregnancy and Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov’s split – and if anyone has something to say about it, it’s controversial bride Bec Zacharia.
Bec, 35, was embroiled in plenty of drama in the experiment but at times she refreshed audiences with her vulnerability and honesty. Her and Gia’s on-again-off-again friendship took centre stage and now Bec has reacted after learning Gia is expecting a baby girl.

“I will say I from back when we were friends for 17 seconds, I’ve always known that that has been her want and desire. She’s always wanted to have another baby,” Bec told nine.com.au.
“When she met Alan [Gia’s current partner], we were friends at that point when she first met him, and I know that she said ‘this is it. He is my future’.
“So I thought it would be only a matter of time, probably not this quick, but you know I’m happy for them as long as the baby is healthy, and they’re happy, then that’s great.”
Bec said she and Gia haven’t spoken since February and confirmed they are not in fact friends but are respectful of one another.
Bec did admit she was more taken aback by news that the season’s golden couple Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov had split.
“That came as a shock to me, but I’ll reserve my judgment for myself. But it was a shock,” Bec said.
Bec said what was more surprising than the split itself was getting a phone call from Stella herself breaking the news.
Considering the Bec and Stella’s rocky relationship in the experiment, Bec didn’t necessarily expect the call.
“It was a shock when Stella rang me and told me but then again, I also didn’t know if [Stella and Filip’s relationship] would ever last to be honest with you,” Bec said.

Despite the friction between them during their season of MAFS, Bec said she and Stella turned a new leaf.
“Stella and I have had hours and hours and hours of conversations. We’ve cried together about this. We’ve laughed. We’ve been angry,” Bec said.
Bec was unable to join Stella and fellow co-star Rachel Gilmore for a girls weekend in Sydney but said she planned to spend some “much-needed quality time” with Stella because “that’s what girls do for each other”.

According to Bec there is a clear divide between the Season 13 cast following the end of filming and airing.
“There’s definitely not one big group of friends,” Bec said.
“I speak to Rebecca, Rachel, Stella, Sam, Alyssa, Chris and Mel all the time, and Luke sporadically.
“There’s people like David and Scott and Danny and Joel and Steve, that I don’t speak to it all. They’re in their own little bubble.”
As for her own life Bec said she’s “definitely having fun” on the dating scene but it can be difficult to navigate at times.

“It’s hard to know sometimes if people are interested because you were on MAFS and there’s a profile there or because they’re genuinely interested,” she said.
“I’m in that that mode of I’m not just going to schedule for subpar, and I think that’s one thing that MAFS taught me. I wanted it to work so badly that I overlooked the extreme amount of red flags, and so now I take everything in and I’m enjoying my time.”
