Please Stop This: Family Fears Justice Will Be L-0-st as 13-Year-Old Kaylan Hippsley’s K-i-ller Set for Release

THE family of a 13-year-old boy killed by a hit-and-run drunk are devastated the driver could be freed from prison after just two years.

Kaylan Hippsley died in 2024 when he was hit by Harley Whiteman, 19, who then abused paramedics treating the teen.

He was jailed for six years, increased to nine after Kaylan’s family appealed.

But Whiteman, now in an open prison, has since had his sentence cut to just four years, so is to be freed in October under Labour’s early release scheme.

Kaylan’s family in the Rhondda, South Wales, urged PM Andy Burnham to keep him locked up.

His sister Chloe Williams said: “We as a family are calling on Andy Burnham to review our case and demand immediate action.

“The decision to move Kaylan’s killer to an open prison after barely two years goes against everything the Court of Appeal ruled.

“It feels like justice has been stolen from us.

“We will not accept this. We demand that he serves his full sentence behind closed doors. Kaylan deserves nothing less.”

And cousin Julie Craig said: “It beggar’s belief that after two years he’s allowed back into the community.

“It’s absolutely devastating.

“This just feels like a kick in the teeth.”
