Married at First Sight Australia returned with a brand new cast of singles putting their faith in the experts to find them ‘the one’. One of the first couples to tie the knot this season is Alissa Fay and David Momoh.

Apart from a rollercoaster wedding day, Alissa and David had a pretty plain sailing MAFS journey… until the very final week of the experiment when their compatibility was thrown into question and Alissa decided David wasn’t her person.

From a failed Final Task to a tense final Dinner Party, it wasn’t looking good for the pair ahead of Final Vows. So did David manage to salvage things with Alissa before Final Vows or have they called it quits? Here’s what we know.

Are MAFS Australia’s Alissa and David still together?

No, Alissa and David split during Final Vows.

Before seeing David at Final Vows, Alissa already knew her decision, saying: “It breaks my heart knowing that I’m going to be breaking his heart at the end of this.”

David was first to share his vows, he reflected on their best moments together before stating that the final Commitment Ceremony was “where everything changed”.

He then made it very clear he was done, saying: “So today I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, Alissa, I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”

David then left, leaving Alissa to read her vows to an empty room. At the end of her vows, Alissa dropped her cards on the floor and exited the building.

The pair appeared on After The Dinner Party together and Alissa admitted that she “overreacted” in the final week when David removed his wedding ring because of her behaviour during the Grass Is Greener task. However she said she knew at that point that he was not the right person for her.

At the last Dinner Party, David had fought for Alissa but she said she was “willing to thrown three months down the drain to not waste any more time”. He said that when it came to write his Final Vows he didn’t fight for their relationship because he had already tried and was aware that Alissa no longer felt the same way towards him.

On the spin-off show, Alissa revealed she’s now very much in love with her new partner, Australia Ninja Warriors star Nathan Ryles. David shared that he’s not in a relationship but is in the “dating market”.
