THIS is the moment a Married at First Sight Australia star got teary-eyed as he opened up on his wife’s secret verbal attacks and fears for their future.

Fans of the show were left furious by Gia Fleur’s treatment of Scott McCristal during the homestays last week but it seems there’s more to the story.

In last night’s instalment of the E4 show, Scott, 33, finally addressed the issues in his relationship with property investor Gia.

He said: “What I’m going to talk about tonight is – I don’t want you to be upset. What I’m going to talk about is a feeling where I…”

Gia cut in saying: “Take a breath a minute,” as Scott’s voice cracked and he fought back his tears.

“What I find so far is I haven’t been able to address a concern with Gia without having an argument or her spiralling.”

MAFS expert Alessandra then asked him what happens when he brings something up that “Gia is not in the mood to hear.”

Scott added: “Can I please just say things that make someone feel pretty deflated and let down.”

The experts, who were concerned for the future of the pair’s relationship outside the experiment, asked him to give specific examples of the kind of things Gia would say during these verbal attacks.

Holding back tears, Scott said: “It could probably happen on average once or twice a week. I feel like there’s a bit of pressure to say that I’m in love and when I don’t say it…

“Gia will say things like ‘you’re a crumb, you’re not a man, you’re not a provider, you don’t give me reassurance.’ Pretty much every name under the sun.”

It seems the experts were bang on the money with their concerns for the longevity of Scott’s relationship with Gia – they split in October last year.

He has since hard-launched his stunning new girlfriend, model and registered nurse Brienna Stockdale.

The new couple looked incredible happy as they cuddled up at a yacht party last week.
