Their decision has been seen as another sign they will likely continue to spend time in California regularly.
Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, will be keeping both their Montecito mansion and a holiday home in Portugal, which they plan to visit throughout the year.
Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, 69, will stay in California.
Their chickens made an appearance in their explosive Oprah Winfrey interview and in one of the Duchess’s Netflix programmes.
They originally had ten hens which they rescued from a commercial factory farm in California.
Then, neighbour Ellen DeGeneres gave them one of hers.
They kept them in a coop named Archie’s Chick Inn after their son Prince Archie.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has stepped down from the board of a controversial African wildlife charity and is no longer a trustee of African Parks.

A spokesman for Harry said the Duke, who was president of the charity for six years before becoming a director in 2023, remains an active and avid supporter of African Parks.
The charity said last year that it had improved its safeguarding processes both in the Odzala-Kokoua National Park and institutionally.

Charles and William are understood to be in alignment that there can be no half-in, half-out royals status for the Sussexes.
