🚨 Three Lives L-0-st on Family Holiday — Tragic Final Moments of Boy, 7, and His Cousin Revealed

A YOUNG boy who drowned alongside his 15-year-old cousin and her mum on a family holiday suffered a fatal brain injury, an inquest heard.

Musa Ahmed, seven, died in hospital six days after getting into difficulty in the water in West Mersea, Essex, on July 22.

His cousin Sameeha Rahman, 15, and her mother Shelina Rahman, 41, also died in the horror.

An inquest heard today the trio had been on a family holiday at the time of the triple tragedy.

Musa was brought to the shore, stabilised and then flown to the Royal London Hospital, Chelmsford County Hall was told.

Post-mortem examinations gave a provisional cause of death as drowning for all three.

For Musa, hypoxic ischaemic brain injury was also recorded as a provisional cause of death.

Senior coroner for Essex Lincoln Brookes said: “Clearly it is so tragic to come across any death of any individual but when three occur at the same time and of the same family, one cannot underestimate the tragic nature of such an incident.”

Mr Brookes offered his “deepest condolences” to the family, friends and loved ones of the victims.

The coroner adjourned the inquest to January 19, 2027.

Musa, Sameeha and Shelina were among a group of five relatives who were caught up in the horror close to the Sea View Holiday Park.

It is understood the mum and daughter sprang into action in a desperate bid to save Musa from the tide when they got into difficulty themselves.

The dad of the daughter and wife, Dr Mansur Rahman, 49, previously told The Sun he was still suffering from shock and is “fighting to overcome” the tragedy.

He added: “I lost my daughter I lost my wife. Please pray for them.”

In a statement, the boy’s family said: “We would also like to thank the Royal London Hospital intensive care unit team of doctors and nurses who demonstrated outstanding care and dignity for whilst we have been at the hospital.

“We would also like to thank the whole community for their support and prayers.

“We would appreciate privacy during this very difficult time.”

Essex Police have asked anyone who was in the area at the time and has information or footage which could assist their investigation to contact them on 101 and quote incident 1090 of 22 July.
