Strictly Come Dancing confirms SIXTH celebrity for 2026 series – and it’s a popular presenter

Another one!

Strictly Come Dancing has just confirmed the sixth celebrity taking to the dance floor for the upcoming 2026 series – and it’s presenter and Big Brother host, Will Best. With a hosting gig for Celebrity Big Brother also under his belt, how will he handle the spotlight this time?

“I can’t quite believe it…I’m doing Strictly!,” he said. “What an absolute dream. Albeit a pretty terrifying one. I’ve been lucky to do lots of live telly before, but absolutely nothing like this.”

“And I cannot wait! I have no idea if I can actually dance, but bring on the sequins, bring on the quicksteps, bring on the dance floor! I’m going to try to enjoy every minute of it,” he added.will best, strictly come dancing

In addition to his roles on ITV’s versions of Big Brother, which he co-hosts with former Strictly star AJ Odudu, Best has also fronted Dance Dance Dance, and currently co-presents The Hits Radio Breakfast Show.

He also won an episode of Celebrity Mastermind in December, where his specialist subject was Danny Dyer. He may have an opportunity to talk about the British actor, as Dyer’s daughter Dani is also competing in Strictly this year!

They will be joined by the previously-announced Lacey Turner, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton and Cach Mercer, with more names expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks ahead of the September premiere.

Best’s unveiling was announced via the social media channels for the BBC series, with professionals such as Alexis Warr, Neil Jones, Lauren Oakley, Jowita Przystal, Amy Dowden and Nancy Xu all commenting on Instagram.

There were also comments from former Strictly stars such as Fleur East and Tyler West, while judge Motsi Mabuse also welcomed Best to the long-running series.

Of course, the celebrities aren’t the only new things about the upcoming 24th season. After Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departures from the series, Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe were confirmed as their replacements.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September.
