‘HER CHILDREN WERE HER WORLD’: HEARTBREAK DEEPENS AS COURT HEARS NEW EVIDENCE IN CASE OF MELBOURNE MOTHER ALLEGEDLY K-ILLED AT HOME
A man with a history of psychiatric illness and self-harm has been charged with murdering a mother of two in front of her children.
Roof restorer Jorden Turney, 32, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon charged with the murder of his partner, Brooke Timmins, 29.
She was found critically injured inside their Clyde North home, south-east of Melbourne, and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she later died.
Emergency services were called to a property on Generation Drive at about 6.30pm on Sunday.
Turney made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
A bizarre police mugshot of him has also resurfaced showing his sunburnt tanlines from wearing his trademark reversed baseball cap.
During a brief filing hearing, the court heard Turney needed to be seen by a prison nurse as he had a long history of mental illness.
Ms Timmins has been remembered as a ‘caring and loving’ person who was devoted to her two children.

‘She was a devoted mother whose children were her whole world, a much-loved daughter and sister, and an incredible auntie who adored her family deeply,’ her family said in a statement provided to 9 News.
‘Brooke had a huge passion for basketball and especially loved coaching.
‘She gave so much of her time and heart to the sport and to the people she coached, encouraging and supporting those around her.
‘She was kind, caring and deeply loved by so many people.
‘Brooke had her whole life ahead of her and deserved the chance to watch her children grow and experience all the beautiful moments still to come.’
Ms Timmins’ social media pages were filled with gushing tributes to the man now accused of killing her.
Her family said they hoped she would not be remembered for her death, but for the ‘mother, daughter, sister, auntie, friend and beautiful person she was’.
Neighbours told reporters at the scene they believed Ms Timmins’ children had been inside the home when she was allegedly murdered.
‘It’s awful, I am going to be checking in on my neighbours [and] really stick together now,’ one said.

It is understood the couple moved into the home on Generation Drive just over 12 months ago.
The court heard the prosecution was seeking a 12-week delay until October 19 because of delays in completing phone analysis and obtaining medical reports.
