SHONA Manderson has hit back at horrifying backlash following her strong claims about her MAFS UK groom Bradley Skelly.

The 33-year-old this week accused her TV husband of “taking things too far during sex” and called for the show to be axed.

Now Shona has shared a new social media video responding to the shocking reaction to her comments.

She said: “I am seeing a lot of blame and a lot of judgment around one part of my story. I feel like the point has been missed completely and the point is consent.

“What I shared with the BBC, just one part of my story and one part of my experience when I was on Married At First Sight UK, is when myself and my partner were having intercourse, we agreed that we were using the pull-out method. This is what I consented to.

“One day he finished inside me without my consent and said he did it to show me how much he loved me.

“This didn’t make me feel loved. It made me feel out of control of my own body.”

Shona added “I have seen so many comments about pregnancy, contraception, [asking] ‘Why did you stay? Why didn’t you leave? Why are you only speaking up now?’

“This was never the point. The point was consent.”

She made the claims on the new Panorama programme, The Dark Side of Married at First Sight, which follows an external review commissioned in April into the welfare of participants on the programme.

Shona was critical of the format of the show and while speaking to the BBC and insisted that she “does not think MAFS UK should be on air at all”.

Shona, who appeared on the show in 2023, was one of the brides who bravely opened up on her experiences in the documentary that aired on Monday night.

The former TV star said she had an abortion after claiming Bradley ejaculated inside her without permission.

She claims experts had separately picked up on her partner’s controlling way of speaking to her at the time of the incident.

Shona told how she later went to get the morning-after pill while accompanied by one of the show’s welfare producers.

Bradley said he understood Shona had consented to him ejaculating inside of her.

In a statement to the BBC, he said he categorically denies “any allegations of sexual misconduct” or that he was “controlling”.

He said their relationship was “based on mutual consent, care and affection”.
