Netflix fans can’t stop raving about this “sumptuous period” drama.
Julian Fellowes’ Downton Abbey was a global phenomenon on ITV running for six seasons and three films, the latest of which came out in the cinemas last year.
Having also created hits like the Oscar Award-winning Gosford Park and The Gilded Age, another hit Fellowes series is already on Netflix.
The English Game is a historical drama set in the late 19th Century, delving into how modern football went from an elite amateur sport to a game for the working-class.
As well as the game itself, the six-part limited series highlights the class struggle and the rivalry between the “wealthy Old Etonians and northern mill workers”.
