LINDSAY Clancy became inconsolable in court as medical examiners testified about the extent of her children’s injuries after she strangled them to death.

The former labor and delivery nurse cried out loudly in a Massachusetts court on Wednesday, where the judge had to call recess and send the jury out of the room multiple times.
At one point, Lindsay could be heard yelling out “I can’t do this.”
Lindsay has admitted to killing her children, but her attorney Kevin Reddington is arguing she was not criminally responsible for murder because she was suffering from undiagnosed postpartum psychosis.

Dr. Renee Stonebridge with the medical examiner’s office in Boston took the stand in the afternoon, where she detailed the injuries she observed on Lindsay’s children, five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan.
Stonebridge was questioned by the prosecution for less than ten minutes, and Lindsay’s defense attorney opted not to cross-examine her.
Lindsay could be seen crying and shaking throughout Stonebridge’s testimony.
When the prosecution went to call their next witness, Judge William Sullivan called for a short recess as Lindsay was seen loudly sobbing with her head in her hands.
As the courtroom was told to rise, Reddington was seen rubbing Lindsay’s back as she audibly sobbed.
Penny Kmitt, a reporter with WBZ-TV who was inside the courtroom, said Lindsay’s father was also crying.
After the break, Dr. Barbara Olsen, another medical examiner, testified about performing an autopsy on Cora, where Lindsay’s sobs grew louder.
Before Olsen got into graphic details about her findings, Lindsay could be seen gripping her attorney’s hand as she cried.

As Olsen went to explain more details about Cora’s injuries, Lindsay could be heard crying, “I can’t do this.”
Judge Sullivan immediately stood up announcing the court would be taking a break.
Two nurses who escort Lindsay to court could be seen lifting her off of the table as they consoled her while she continued sobbing.
When court resumed, Reddington could be seen comforting minutes before Olsen picked her testimony back up.
Reddington objected at one point, saying, “It’s obvious what she wants,” as Lindsay continued crying with her head down on the table.
The defense attorney objected several times, becoming visibly frustrated.
Court finished for the day with Olsen’s testimony.
After Lindsay strangled her three children in the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts home, she crushed up pills, slit her wrists and neck with a knife from her kitchen and jumped fromher second-story bedroom window.
The suicide attempt left her paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair.
Lindsay has pleaded not guilty to the three murder charges she faces.
As the trial continues, Reddington will argue she was overmedicated and suffering from undiagnosed postpartum psychosis.
Lindsay was seen by multiple healthcare providers in the months before she killed her children, where she was prescribed 13 psychiatric medications.
The prosecution has argued that Lindsay was not “in the throes of psychosis” and instead she deliberately, “coldly and efficiently executed” her kids.
Lindsay faces life in prison without parole if she is convicted, but if she is found to not be criminally responsible, she would be committed to a state mental health facility.
