🚨 A 25-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS FOUND D-E-A-D AT A CAMPSITE NEAR THE ROYAL WELSH SHOWGROUND… AND POLICE’S IMMEDIATE RESPONSE IS NOW LEAVING EVERYONE WITH QUESTIONS
A YOUNG man has died at a busy campsite as cops arrest three men in connection with his sudden death.
Paramedics rushed to the scene last night but were unable to save the 25-year-old, who was pronounced dead despite their best efforts.
Cops have since confirmed they have arrested three men on suspicion of drug-related offences.
They remain in custody while officers continue investigating the unexplained death.
The tragedy unfolded at Penmaenau Farm caravan park in Llanelwedd – the main campsite used by thousands of visitors attending the Royal Welsh Show each year.
Dyfed-Powys Police were called to the campsite at around 10.30pm on Saturday following reports of a medical emergency.
The force said the man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A police spokeswoman said: “Dyfed-Powys Police attended to a report of a medical emergency at Penmaenau Farm, Llanelwedd at around 10.30pm on Saturday, July 18.
“Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 25-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
“Three men have been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and remain in custody.
“A police presence remains at the scene while enquiries continue.”
Temporary Chief Superintendent Steve Davies described the death as a “tragic incident”.
He said: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the young man’s family at this difficult time.
“I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
“There is no evidence of any ongoing risk to the wider public in connection with this sad incident.”
The incident happened on the eve of the Royal Welsh Show, Wales’ biggest annual agricultural festival, which is due to begin on Monday.
Councillor Richard Church, Powys Council’s cabinet member for a safer Powys, called it a “deeply sad incident”.
He said: “The safety and wellbeing of residents, visitors and everyone attending the area during Royal Welsh Show week remains our highest priority.
“We want everyone visiting the area to enjoy themselves, but please do so safely, look after each other and never be afraid to ask for help if you need it.”
